Joe Frank McKee

Joe MJoe Frank McKee of Tree House Pottery will be at the festival again this year. You may remember his raku firing demonstrations from previous years.

Joe Frank creates a wide range of work, from functional and fumed pots, to traditional Raku and Horsehair pottery. His decorative lines are more creative and artistic, while his functional pots keep him in touch with his everyday customers. He enjoys teaching the art of clay as a part-time instructor at Southwestern Community College.

One of his greatest professional accomplishments was co-founding the Western North Carolina Pottery Festival. Joe Frank has found great joy in working with clay, a fascination that has evolved into a livelihood that promises to continue for many years to come. The decorative line of pottery has been both challenging and rewarding to Joe Frank as an artist, enjoyable and unique because no two pieces come out exactly alike.
